How long have Painttechnics been training?
We have been sucessfully training people in the SMART repair industry for around 8 years. We originally set up as a sole trader and within 15 months realised the scope for SMART repair was increasing so we employed our first technician. As the business grew we took on more staff and trained in house. This then led to the main dealerships we worked for asking us to train their own pdi and valeting staff in SMART repairs, which in turn took us to a training school and eventually the franchise markets.
Is it true you still perform mobile SMART repairs and valeting?
Yes, unlike other franchises we still have our own mobile SMART repair business running as well. This allows us to trial new items before we release them to our trainees, and they are well trialed before hand.
It also allows us to keep in contact with the general public with their thoughts on SMART repairs.
What types of repair will I be able to perform?
From the moment you leave the training facility you will be able to repair bumper scuffs, mirror casings, exterior trim panels, vandal scratches, alloy wheel repairs, motorcycle and scooter repairs including plastic welding, commercial vehicle repairs and all manner of vehicle colour coding , valeting both interior and exterior, machine polishing and paintwork protection. This we believe will cover most repairs to be found on the 31 million vehicles on the roads today.
Do you train outside or just workshop based?
We like to give all our trainees real world experience and so promote the use of outside training for various elements of the training programme.
Must I buy all my supplies from Painttechnics?
Obviously we would like you to but the simple answer is only the chemicals. Unlike most franchises we do not require you to buy everything from us. We do not however charge our Trainees a mark up on consumables and all prices are in line with most other repair suppliers. Please see our on line shop at
Is there a monthly fee?
yes there is a monthly fee of £200 per calendar month to cover brand use, marketing and ongoing product development.
